Khalifa issues eight decrees appointing government officials

President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan yesterday issued eight decrees on new appointments in the council of ministers, the court of deputy prime minister and several federal ministries.

Decree no. 17/2006 appoints Mrs Najla Mohammad Al our shall be appointed as secretary-general of the council of ministers with the grade of undersecretary with effect from March 20.



According to decree no. 18/2006, Dr Ali Ahmad Thani Al Falasi shall be appointed as undersecretary of ministry of the development of governmental sector with effect from March 6.



Article (1) of decree no. 19/2006 states that with effect from March 6 Ahmad Mohammad Al Mazroui is appointed as chief of court of deputy prime minister with the grade of undersecretary, and Salim Mohammad Salim Bala'ma as undersecretary of the court of the deputy prime minister, with the grade of undersecretary.



Decree no. 20/2006 appoints Tariq Hilal Ahmad Lootah as secretary-general of the ministry of FNC affairs with the grade of undersecretary.



Decree no. 21/2006 appoints Abdullah Ahmad Mohammad Al Saleh as undersecretary of the ministry of economy with effect from March 20. As per decree no. 23/2006, six Moroccan national judges are appointed at the courts of first instance category 3 in the Department of Sharia Justice.



The six new judges are Mohammad Al Sagheer Amjadh, Mohammad Akedbad, Khalid Mdawi, Ahmad Al Buhali, Idris Bin Shakroun and Idris Bin Mansour. Decree no. 24/2006 appoints four councillors as judges at the Court of Appeal and according to the terms and condition of external contract.



The four new judges are Saleh Mohammad Abdullah Abul Rahman, Mohammad Al Sayyed Al Qinawi Huda, Adel Mohammad Al Sayyed Othman and Mohammad Al Saeed Mohammad Al Fateh Ahmad Radhwan.

Decree no. 25/2006 re-appoints judge Abdul Rahman Ali Ganem Al Ganem as judge at the Abu Dhabi Sharia Court of Appeal according to the terms and conditions of permanent contract.



President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in his capacity as Ruler of Abu Dhabi, has issued a law amending some articles of law No.4 for 1972 regarding the Establishment of the National Insurance Company.



Law No.8 for 2006 has been issued to replace the first paragraph of article No. 26 of law No.4 (4) for 1972. The new text says the company will be managed by a nine-member board, including the chairman and other eight members representing the government and the company's shareholders.



The board chairman and two of its members as representatives of the government will be appointed by the chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council for a renewable term of three years. The rest of members will be elected for the same term by the company's general body which represents the shareholders. (Emirates News Agency, WAM)
