Khalifa names Abu Dhabi Culture and Heritage Authority board

President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in his capacity as Ruler of Abu Dhabi, has issued an Emiri decree naming board of directors of the Abu Dhabi Culture and Heritage Authority.



According to the decree, the board shall be chaired by Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority. The board members are: Zaki Anwar Zaki Nusaibah, who is also named Deputy Chairman, Saeed Butti Al Qubaisi, Saeed Ghanim Hamoudah, F. Herd, Mubarak Hamad Al Muhairi, Nujoom Nasser Hussein Al Ghanim and Huda Ibrahim Kanoo. The decree set the board's term as five renewable years.



The Board of Directors also held its first meeting yesterday, presided over by its head Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, also Chairman of Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority. During the meeting, the board agreed to appoint Mohammed Khalaf Al Mazrouei as ADCHA Director General.



Sheikh Tahnoun expressed appreciation to President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan for setting up "this important cultural entity as he realizes the great role such organisation can play in enriching Abu Dhabi's multi-cultural scene." He also lauded the great support given by General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and his keenness to preserve the country's identity and deep-rooted history. The board discussed a number of topics on the agenda and approved the authority's strategy, organisation structure, HR policy and 2006 budget. (Emirates News Agency, WAM)
