Khalifa receives British Prime Minister

President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan , in the presence of the Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, met today at Al Rodah Palace in Al Ain with the British Prime Minister David Cameron, who arrived in the UAE earlier on a short visit.

Sheikh Khalifa welcomed the British Prime Minister and his entourage, praising the historic relations between the UAE and the UK in all fields The meeting discussed ways to boost the ties of co-operation and friendship between the two countries in different fields, awhile the two leaders also exchanged views on the latest developments in the regional and international arenas The UAE President emphasised the keenness of the UAE to support the peace process in the Middle East in accordance with the relevant international resolutions.

For his part, Cameron said he was pleased to be making his first visit to the UAE, since becoming British Prime Minister, and at meeting Sheikh Khalifa.

Cameron hailed the development and growth being experienced by the UAE in all areas, making mention of the wise and balanced policies of the UAE leadership that had enabled the country to occupy a distinguished position at the regional and international level.

"My visit to the UAE and my meeting with Sheikh Khalifa provided an opportunity to exchange views on a number of the latest current issues in the region", he said. Britain and the UAE have strong and special historic ties, he said, adding that his government was keen to strengthen those relations.

General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Major General HH Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, HH Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of the Court of the Abu Dhabi, HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, HH Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Finance, Dr. Hadef Jua'an Al Dhahiri, Minister of Justice, Ahmed Jumaa Zaabi, Deputy Minister of Presidential Affairs, and Lt.
