Khalifa urges new ADEC members to double efforts in serving UAE

New members of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council (ADEC) were sworn before President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in his capacity as Ruler of Abu Dhabi.



In a decree issued on mid-December, the President restructured the ADEC under the chairmanship of General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.



The members who took the oath of office last Sunday, in the presence of Sheikh Mohammed, were Nasser Ahmed Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the Planning and Economy Department, Major General Saeed Obaid Al Mazroui, Deputy Commander General of Abu Dhabi Police, Abdullah Rashid Khalaf Al Otaiba, Chairman of Transportation Department and Dr. Ahmed Mubarak Al Mazroui, Chairman of the General Authority for Health Services in Abu Dhabi (GAHS).



Sheikh Khalifa urged the new members to double their efforts in the service of the homeland so to push the drive of development and prosperity ahead. He instructed them to keep abreast of latest developments witnessed by the world in various fields and maintain at the same time local values and principles which he said 'have placed our country in a leading position among countries of the world.”



The president wished them success in their duties and mission. Sheikh Khalifa also paid homage to former ADEC members for the effort they exerted in serving their nation.



On their turn, the new ADEC members pledged before the President to press ahead with effort to serving the homeland and its people and to measure up to the valuable trust vested in them. They also expressed their determination to work sincerely and faithfully to advance the march of development in the emirate of Abu in particular and the UAE in general. The oath-taking ceremony was attended a number of Sheikhs, ministers, top officials of Abu Dhabi government and ADEC members. (Emirates News Agency, WAM)
