President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has ordered the allocation of Dh200 million for the construction of a new 200-bed hospital in Umm al-Qaiwain. The allocation was announced yesterday, following a visit to the emirate by the President. The Ministries of Health and Housing have been instructed to take the necessary steps to implement the Presidential order.

President Khalifa visited Umm Al Qaiwain yesterday and met H.H. Sheikh Rashid bin Ahmed Al Mu'alla, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm al-Qaiwain. He congratulated the Ruler for his safe return and convalescence following a medical trip abroad. Sheikh Rashid held a banquet in honour of Sheikh Khalifa and also presented him with a memento. A number of poets recited their poems, praising Sheikh Khalifa's style of leadership and keenness for the welfare of all the citizens. (The Emirates News Agency, WAM)
