Khalifa visits historic sites in Turkmenistan

Ashgabat - President HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan visited Thursday the mausoleum of late Turkmenistan President Separmurat Niyzov at grand Mosque in Kipchak town, where the late president was born.

Sheikh Khalifa laid a wreath to the tomb and recited Holy Quran in prayer for the departed soul. Then he toured the mosque, which is the biggest in the central Asia, and hailed the development achieved in the era of late president.

He visited the independence statue at Turkmenistan capital, Ashgabat and laid wreath to the memorial. The tombs of national figures, who played the role in the independence of Turkmenistan, lie near the statue. Sheikh Khalifa visited the museum of late president, where he registered an autograph, on the relations between the two countries established by the late president Niyazov. Sheikh Khalifa was accompanied during his visit to the historic sites by Rashid Meredov, deputy prime minister and Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
