King of Jordan receives Abdullah bin Zayed

Amman: His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan received here yesterday UAE Foreign Minister H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum, which was held at the Dead Sea region.

Sheikh Abdullah conveyed to the King of Jordan greetings of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

King Abdullah praised his country's progressive fraternal ties with the UAE. He also referred to the unlimited support given by the UAE, under the wise leadership of Sheikh Khalifa, to Jordan and the assistance provided to enable Jordan cope with the influx of over 500,000 Syrian refugees.

For his part, sheikh Abdullah reiterated the strong and deep-rooted ties and partnership between the UAE and Jordan and their mutual keenness to serve the interests of the two fraternal countries.

The meeting touched on the recent developments in Syria and the Middle East peace efforts. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
