Korea-Arab business' communicator (suq Kuriya) has lauded the UAE pavilion at Expo 2012 Yeosu Korea for winning the Silver Medal in appreciation to its performance.

The (suq kuriya) website said the UAE has drawn the attention of Korean people through its participation at EXPO 2012 Yeosu Korea, which concluded recently.

Making it to the top-rated A Class alongside ten other major nations: China, USA, Japan, Russia, Germany, Australia, Turkey, Italy, Spain and Denmark, the website continued, "affirms the UAE's determination to make more achievements which would place it among the world's advanced nations." The website quoted the statement of UAE Ambassador to South Korea Abdullah Khalfan Al-Rumaithi, in which he underscored the significance of awarding the Silver Medal to the UAE Pavilion at EXPO 2012 Yeosu Korea by the Bureau of International Expositions (B.I.E) for creative display.

He added that in the past three months at the exposition, the UAE made unique presence and astonished hundreds of thousands of Koreans and visitors by its achievements at the pavilion at EXPO 2012 Yeosu Korea.

The UAE ambassador said the UAE has attained such a prestigious status because of prudent leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and keen interest of Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and the directives by His Highness Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

Al Rumaithi also hailed the efforts made by NMC, which was responsible for running the UAE Pavilion at B.I.E.'s Expo event, citing the dedication of its employees to present the UAE's brilliant image to the Koreans.

He underscored that the most recent recognition for the UAE Pavilion by the international judging panel of the B.I.E. Medal Awards represents a real support to the UAE's bid to host EXPO 2020 in Dubai.

The ambassador said the promotion campaign run by the UAE Pavilion attracted the attention of officials from Korea and most of the 160 member countries of B.I.E., hoping that these countries would vote for the UAE EXPO 2020 bid.
