Sheikha Latifa Al Maktoum warmed up in style for this week's Dubai Show Jumping 2007 Championship with a smart win at last weekend's event at the Dubai Polo and Equestrian Club. Sheikha Latifa, who was a member of the UAE team that won the bronze at the Doha Asiad, showed fine form at last weekend's competitions.
In partnership with Quidam's Pride, Sheikha Latifa topped the Class 10: A1 category (One Round with Jump-Off) with a faultless display in a timing of 85.84 seconds.
Arif Ahmad Al Ahli on Peter V.D came up with a better timing of 81.84 seconds but with four faults had to be content with the second place. However the duo completed a 1-2 for the Emirates Equestrian Club. Most of the top UAE riders used the event to prepare for the January 10-12 Dubai Show Jumping Championship during which the World Cup qualifiers will also be held. (Gulf News)
