Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of Development and International Co-operation and President of Zayed University, has said that the values of goodness and philanthropy rooted in the United Arab Emirates come as a true translation of the philosophy of the UAE's wise leadership since the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan founded the Red Crescent Authority in 1983 to represent the UAE's humanitarian side.

In a speech on the occasion of World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day, Sheikh Lubna added that the Emirati humanitarian stances in the areas of humanitarian responses came as a result of the generous directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and the follow-up of His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

She also stressed that these stances, which are lead by the efforts of UAE Red Crescent Authority, receiving the care and intensive follow-up of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region and Chairman of the UAE RCA, represent support to all global efforts including the World Red Cross and Red Crescent, in order to move to a world that is more responsive to those affected by disasters and humanitarian crises." –Emirates News Agency, WAM
