Lubna Al Qasimi meets Korean officials

Seoul - Minister of Foreign Trade H.E. Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi met here yesterday with LeeYoun-ho, Korean Minister of Knowledge Economy.

The two sides discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance them. They praised the progress of cooperation between the two countries that made the UAE become Korea's second largest trade partner. Sheikha Lubna also reviewed with the Korean minister progress on talks between South Korea and the GCC countries on the proposed Free Trade Agreement.

Afterwards, Sheikha Lubna met with Lee Maan-ee, Korean Minister of Environment and discussed with him cooperation between the two countries in environmental fields and exchange of expertise on eco-friendly technologies.

The two meetings were attended by Abdullah Al Maena, UAE Ambassador to Seoul and Korean officials. The two-way trade between the UAE and South Korea reached Dh11 billion in 2007. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
