Lubna meets Algerian Finance Minister

Algiers - UAE Foreign Trade Minister HE Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, who is currently visiting Algeria, has met Algerian Finance Minister HE Karim Jody. Heading the high profile business and economic delegation, the UAE minister participated in the inauguration of the Algerian International Fair.

Sheikha Lubna and the Algerian minister discussed ways of boosting the trade and investment ties through encouragement of private sector between the two countries. She stressed speciality of the relations between the UAE and Algeria.

On his part, the Algerian minister stressed that his country was keen to boost the economic ties and trade exchange with the UAE.

The trade exchange between the UAE and Algeria surged from US$335 million to US$433million in 2007 at the growth annual rate of 7 per cent. The UAE exports and re-exports to the Algerian market, constitute the greater part of the trade exchange. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
