The Ministry of Education has launched media campaign to raise awareness on combating H1N1 under the slogan: 'safe schools. The campaign targets the school community and parents for educating them on the best ways to prevent the disease and ways to keep the schools in the country free of the virus.

HE Humaid Al Qattami said the campaign comes in the context of strengthening the preventive measures taken by the ministry in schools in close cooperation with health authorities in the country and educational districts as well as the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States (ABEGS).

He added that the campaign is encouraged by the fact that the UAE has a powerful variety of mass media, which enabled the ministry to add new methods for creating awareness. The minister also reassured that his field trips had proved the preparedness of schools to cope with the situation, stressing that this campaign will help our students and teachers to promote a new health policy in state's schools. He hailed the great efforts made by school administrations to provide safe learning environment for students. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
