The debut performance of Macbeth by Globe Education of Shakespeare's Globe was received with tremendous enthusiasm yesterday evening with leading stars Philip Cumbus as Macbeth and Emma Pallant as Lady Macbeth. As part of the Abu Dhabi Festival's educational outreach to students and schools across the nation, the Abu Dhabi theatre was packed with youngsters who had the opportunity to experience one of William Shakespeare's most gripping plays.

It has been exactly four centuries since ‘The Scottish Play' was first performed in the original Shakespeare's Globe at London's South Bank. The Abu Dhabi Theatre featured a specially designed set with the actors using every available space inside the auditorium as the audience sat on the edge of their seats in suspense as the supernatural tragedy of Macbeth unravelled on the stage before them.

Macbeth will be showing 20th - 23rd March at the Abu Dhabi Theatre and 27th - 28th March at the Madinat Theatre, Dubai. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
