Malaysian Prime Minister receives Abdullah bin Zayed

Kuala Lumpur - Malaysian Prime Minister Dato Sri Mohammad Najib bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak received yesterday at the Parliament House in Kuala Lumpur, UAE Foreign Minister HH Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the delegation accompanying him.

During the meeting, Sheikh Abdullah conveyed to the Malaysian Premier the greetings of Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and his wishes for the progress and prosperity of the people of Malaysia.

He reiterated the keenness of the UAE to strengthen relations and develop cooperation with Malaysia in various avenues of common interest.

The Malaysian Prime Minister asked Sheikh Abdullah to convey his greetings to Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid.

The Malaysian premier welcomed Sheikh Abdullah and alluded to the forthcoming visit to Malaysia by General HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, crown prince of Abu Dhabi and deputy supreme commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

He also asserted his country's keenness to develop bilateral relations, particularly in the areas of economy, tourism and investment.

During the meeting they reviewed areas of cooperation between the two countries in the field of higher education.

They also noted the importance of convening the general meeting of the UAE-Malaysia Joint Commission next year.

The meeting was attended by Assistant to Foreign Minister for Economic Affairs Khalid Ghanim Al Ghaith, UAE ambassador to Malaysia Nasser Abdullah Salman Al Aboudi, Major General Issa Saif Al Mazrouei from the General Command of the UAE Armed Forces and a number of senior officials.

Malaysian Foreign Minister Datuk Hanifah Haji Aman also attended the meeting. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
