Mansour bin Zayed attends celebrations marking 40th anniversary of Libyan Revolution

Tripoli - Representing President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Presidential Affairs, H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has attended the celebrations marking the 40th anniversary of the Libyan Revolution.

Sheikh Mansour joined the Libyan Leader, Muammar Ghaddafi and more than 60 other heads of states from Arab, African, Islamic, Asian, European and Latin American countries to watch a military parade that formed part of the activities marking the anniversary.

The UAE Deputy Prime Minister conveyed to the Libyan leader greetings from President Khalifa and from the Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, and their wishes of more progress and prosperity for the Libyan people.

During a meeting with President Gaddafi, Sheikh Mansour expressed the commitment of the UAE, under the leadership of H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to the continuation of the existing fraternal ties between the two countries and to developing those ties for the mutual interest of the two countries and their peoples.

For his part, President Gaddafi conveyed through Sheikh Mansour reciprocal greetings to the UAE President and Vice President. He said his country was proud of its relations of cooperation with the UAE and underscored Libya's commitment to further boost those ties for the mutual interest of the two countries.

The Libyan leader expressed profound gratitude to the UAE President and Vice President for their deep interest in sharing the happy moment with the Libyan people in celebrating the "September 1Revolution". He prayed to God to grant the UAE leaders good health and the UAE people more progress and prosperity.

Sheikh Mansour was seen off upon departure after the short visit by the Secretary General of the People's Committee and Secretary for Finance and Planning, Dr. Abdul Hafiz Al-Zelaiti, UAE Ambassador, Abdullah Sulaiman Al-Hammadi and staff members of the UAE Embassy.

Sheikh Mansour was accompanied on the trip by Economy Minister, Sultan Saeed Al-Mansouri and Director of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Affairs Minister, Ali bin Salim Al-Ka'abi. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
