Mauritanian President lauds UAE progress

The president of the ruling Mauritanian Council for Justice and Democracy Colonel Ali Ould Mohammed Fal, praised the United Arab Emirates' achievements in development, which he states provides hope for the Arab World in utilizing its energies and resources for developing their societies.



He expressed optimism for the UAE's involvement in Mauritania's construction and development and he welcomed the participation of the Emirates Investment Group contribution to this process.



During his meeting with Sheikh Tariq Bin Faisal Al Qasimi, Chairman of Emirates Investment Group, Colonel Ali Ould Mohammed Fal said that the Mauritanian government has focused on encouraging foreign investments through an increase in transparency in the implementing of rules and regulations which in turn encourages investments.



A memorandum of understanding to complete a master plan for Nouakchott 2020 was signed between Mauritania and the Emirates Investment Group in attendance of the Prime Minister, Sidi Ould BouBakar and the Minister of Economic Affairs and Development, Mohamed Ould Abed in the President's palace.



Here, Sheikh Tariq Al Qasimi met Sidi Ould Tah, who is responsible for heading the board of the military of justice and democracy in addition to other renowned personalities and ministers in the Mauritanian government.



During the meeting, they exchanged different perspectives on how to implement future plans that can develop the economic sector of Mauritania and enhance its investment opportunities.



Sheikh Tariq Al Qasimi was appreciative of the welcome and hospitality that he experienced during his stay in Mauritania, and he thanked its president for his vote of confidence in the Emirates Investment Group and for his personal interest and care to sign the MOU between the two parties.



Al Qasimi hopes that this achievement will contribute to employing the Mauritanian workforce and further investment opportunities in the country, which he states holds much potential. He also guaranteed that this step will lead towards exploring new energies in a country that is still under construction and development due to the potential its land posses and its appeal to Arab and Gulf investor interest, firms and individuals who are looking for those opportunities available in Mauritania.
