UAE Supreme Council Member and the Ruler of Umm Al Qaiwain HH Sheikh Saud Bin Rashid Al Mualla offered greetings to the leadership and the people of UAE on the occasion of the 39th anniversary of UAE National Day.

The following is the message HH gave across the Dira' Al Watan (Nation Shield): .

The National Day of our young country that visits us every year, gives us the opportunity to enliven the fond memories about the endeavours of our forefathers who walked ahead of us in the march led by the wise of the Arabs the Late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and his forefront supporters among whom was Late Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum. They all worked hard and fulfilled their dream by establishing the UAE as a modern and independent sovereign state constituting part of the great Arab homeland.

The past is linked to the present and our young country quickly grew and flourished, and became a model for civilization, renaissance and development, and produced worthy generations.

Although this anniversary is unquestionably exciting, we feel the absence of the builders this prestigious edifice from joining us to celebrate this happy occasion. Our consolation is that although they are not physically present in our midst, their sacred souls always accompany us. They live through their achievements, and their flags flutter in the sky as it is held high by the President HH Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed. He received the flag with the strong resolve and determination to continue and complete the march.

His first and the subsequent terms, though they were short periods, were full of great achievements and put our country in the ranks of nations that foster developed parliamentary life. He could create an exemplary environment for human life and launched initiatives for utilizing renewable energy sources. He has also been keen on a process of renaissance based on a vibrant and vital society that rely on its two lungs, not only on the efforts males, but also on the female lung.

The Ruler alluded to the awards set up by the president to encourage innovation by women in various areas such as education, economy , social service, and culture.

The international media will feel proud to cite some of the manifestations of the success of our country in the field of economic life and objective investment, which are the assets for future generations. It is also a matter of pride to see the flag of our nation flying at the humanitarian fronts, whenever a disaster strikes anywhere in the world calling for help and assistance from the human race. This humanitarian help is in addition to the solidarity assistance the country extends to the people of fraternal bonds.

The Ruler said that this year the National Day celebration have a special importance as it comes shortly after the return of the beloved President from abroad in good health and wellness after a medical trip. The joy of the people at the time of his return reflected their emotions of love and affections for their leader.

I pray to the Almighty to protect our country, and grace us to celebrate the National Day every year in continued progress, peace and prosperity and to bless the president and vice president and his fellow rulers with good health and wellness. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
