The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MOFAAIC) announced yesterday that UAE citizens, whose sole purpose of visiting the Republic of India is tourism, can benefit from the E-Tourist Visa scheme (eTV).

Citizens of the United Arab Emirates can apply online for eTV which shall be granted through email. The applicants should carry a print of this email and can travel to India through 16 designated international airports (Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bengaluru, Chennai, Cochi, Delhi, Gaya, Goa, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Tiruchirapalli, Trivandrum and Varanasi).

UAE applicants planning to travel to India for the purposes of treatment and study cannot benefit from this scheme. Instead, they should submit their applications to the Indian Embassy or the Indian Consulate in UAE, or contact one of the visa offices approved by the Indian embassy in the country. – Emirates News Agency, WAM - http://www.wam.ae/en/news/emirates/1395293822484.html
