Through an internal initiative, the Ministry of Labour aims to collect donations as a direct response to the "UAE Compassion" (Tarahamu) campaign, which was launched by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and under the directives of Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The UAE will provide emergency relief materials including blankets, warm clothing and food items, to thousands of refugees to help relieve their suffering during winter.

The Ministry called upon its employees to participate in the internal humanitarian campaign, which was launched on Tuesday and will last for the whole week in cooperation with the Emirates Red Crescent, ERC. Materials will be collected along with donations in order to aid Arab brothers during the harsh cold storms.

Through its social media platforms, the Ministry of Labour will target its audience and encourage the joining of hands and participation in the campaign.

Mubarak Saeed Al-Dhaheri, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Labour, hailed the Tarahamu campaign, which support refugees in Jordan and Lebanon in addition to people in Gaza and the rest of the Palestinian territories, saying that the campaign once again confirms the wise leadership of the UAE in approaching such humanitarian movements.

"The UAE is always keen to take direct response in such disastrous situations, which is a true reflection of the values of our Islamic religion in order to strengthen solidarity and compassion between our Arab brothers, I call upon the public and private practices to participate in this great humanitarian initiative," Al-Dhaheri said.

He explained that the Ministry of Labour, as an integral part of the UAE community responded to the Tarahamu campaign internally by collecting donations and useable items from its employees and visiting customers to give to those in need. – Emirates News Agency, WAM –
