The Ministry of Health (MoH) is collaborating with the UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) to provide health services in Palestine in the light of the tragic situation in Gaza, which is witnessing unprecedented Israeli aggression.

The kind gesture is in line with the directives of President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

According to the MoH Executive Director for Medical Practice and Licensing, Dr. Amin Hussein Al-Amiri, who is also the head of the UAE National Blood Transfusion Committee, his outfit had started collaborating with officials of the Palestinian ministry of health to assess the actual need for blood transfusion service to save life in the war devastated Gaza Strip.

He said his outfit had launched a blood donation campaign in Sharjah, adding that more than 140 donors of various nationalities had donated blood so far in a campaign that is being organised at the Khalid Lake area, in collaboration with the Sharjah-branch of the RCA and the Sharjah Police.

He said his outfit will soon identify other spots throughout the country for blood donation, in addition to the official blood donation centres nationwide to boost the blood donation campaign in support of the victims of the Israeli aggression in Gaza. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
