New Delhi - Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum met yesterday with Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh at the Prime Minister's Office in the Indian capital.
Sheikh Mohammed and Dr. Singh reviewed a number of regional and international economic and political issues and pondered on ways to enhance the prospects for peace and stability so as to achieve even the minimum standard of living, prosperity, education and healthcare for people, especially those who live in areas of tension and conflicts.
They also held talks on the mechanisms of action to expand the horizons of cooperation between the UAE and India in economic, cultural and other avenues, thus enhancing the neighborly relations and traditional friendship between the two countries and their peoples.
Dr. Singh welcomed the visit of Sheikh Mohammed to India, describing the visit as a continuation of the mutual visits between the officials in both countries and provides impetus for strengthening ties between the two sides.
The meeting was attended by HH Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation and Chairman of Emirates Group, HE Mohammed Ibrahim Al Shaibani, Director of the Office of HH the Ruler of Dubai, Mohammed Sultan Al Owais, UAE Ambassador to India and the number of Indian officials. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
