HH General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces attended on Thursday, the inaugural episode in the final rounds of the popular poetry contest 'Poet of Million'.
The widely acclaimed pan-Arab poetry contest launched by Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH) is in its third edition.
The five poets qualified for the finals are Ziad Bin Hijab, Ayidh Al-Dhafiri, Eida Al-Jahni, Fahd Al Shahrani and Mohammed Al-Tamimi, all of whom hail from Saudi Arabia.
The poets, inspired by the presence of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed, versified poems portraying his ardent support for poetry and poets, through his patronage of the Arab world's first ever poetry contest in pure standard Arabic.
The event was also attended by Director General of the ADACH Mohammed Khalaf Al Mazroui. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
