The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation announced it has received a delegation from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) headed by Oliver Wilcox, Senior Government Advisor for the Bureau of the Middle East and Irene Lee, Vice Council at the United States Consulate General in Dubai.

The delegation was received by Sultan Lootah, Executive Director for Entrepreneurship Development at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation and Dr. Sulaiman Al Hattlan, CEO of the Arab Strategy Forum, the Foundation's intellectual platform. The guests were briefed about the Foundation's objectives and accomplishments to overcome the challenges facing the Arab World in the areas of development and knowledge. Collaboration opportunities between the two sides were also discussed during the meeting.

Sultan Lootah said: "We were pleased to meet with the USAID delegation. We exchanged views related to development, especially in the area of education, in the Arab World. Supporting education and human capital development are among the Foundation's main objectives. It is our endeavour to identify and take forward collaboration opportunities that will lead to a continued development of sustainable knowledge-based economies in the Arab World." The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation has tied up with several regional institutions to devise programmes that help build a stronger knowledge-base and skill-set, and develop a generation that is equipped with the ability to face the challenges of sustainable development in the Arab World. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
