Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum World Peace Award ratifies its basic plan

Board of Trustees of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum World Peace Award has approved its basic plan in preparation for submitting it to Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the patron of the Prize.

Chairman of the Board of Trustees Dr. Hamad Bin Al Sheikh Ahmed Al Shaibani said that the Board, since its establishment, has been holding continuous sessions to develop its strategic plan and operational structures.

The Award was set up by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid earlier in October this year through decree No. 19 of 2011. One of the most important objectives of the award, as highlighted in the decree, is to honour entities with outstanding contributions to international peace, promoting civilised interaction among nations, preserving international peace, encouraging communication among different religions, and bringing forth the true image of Islam as a religion of forgiveness and peace.

As per the decree, the emirate of Dubai will be the permanent headquarters of the award with the right to open branches outside the emirate. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
