H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai has approved a document on professional behaviour principles and ethics in the public office of federal authorities. The document elaborates the definition of professional behaviour and rules for human resource department working in the federal governmental sector with the aim to create an institutional culture that supports the professional values of a public employee and develops a spirit of responsibility with adherence to ethics while dealing with subordinates, colleagues or public.
The document is also aimed to cultivate and develop a set of core values in the work environment and maintain the good reputation of the State where it emphasized at the beginning that serving the country and its people through public office is an honour and privilege to cherish and be proud of.
The document adopted by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed identifies 13 core values distinguishing professional behaviour and ethics of governmental job in the federal sector.
This document is considered to be a key reference where all the rules contained therein is binding on all the ministries and federal authorities. The human resources departments in the ministries and federal authorities are responsible for supervising the activation of this document and to disseminate among their staff in appropriate ways. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
