Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum yesterday inspected the venue of the second edition of the Dubai Tour (Dubai Tour 2015), the 663-km international professional cycling race taking place over four stages between February 4-7. The event is organised by Dubai Sports Council.

H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid was accompanied by Khalifa Saeed Sulaiman, Director General of Dubai's Protocol Department, and Saeed Hareb, Chairman of the Organising Committee of Dubai Tour, as he followed the 145-km first stage of the race in Jumeirah.

Sixteen teams featuring the world's best riders are taking part in the tour where they are tackling road, desert and climbs.

Dubai Tour 2015 started from the Dubai International Marine Club, headed south to reach Jabal Ali and then crossed the area where Expo 2020 will be held.

H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid was briefed by Hareb on the stages of the tour.

He expressed his delight at hosting this international event in the UAE and noted that its success is a new achievement by the national sports institutions and leaders.
