The Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in Abu Dhabi yesterday in the presence of His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces opened the inaugural edition of the Naval Defence Exhibition (NAVDEX) at the marina of the Abu Dhabi Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).

Sheikh Mohammed launched at NAVDAX the boat 'Al Hosn" built by the Abu Dhabi Shipbuilding Company. The boat is the first precursor to the company's national production. The Vice President and his entourage cruised on board the boat for a tour.

Sheikh Mohammed noted in the VIP register book that "It is with great pride and honour to congratulate our valiant Armed Forces to take down the boat to join our Navy, and we hope that this achievement is a new addition to our armed forces to remain well armed and protect our national achievements under the patronage of President and Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan." The event was attended by a number of Sheikhs, ministers, heads of delegations and heads of exhibiting companies. 88 firms from 17 countries are showcasing their equipment and maritime weapons at NAVDAX. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
