Mohammed bin Rashid receives Korean official

H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai has received Dr. Jong Chul Rhee, Vice President of Medical Affairs at Sungkyunkwan University and President '&' CEO of Samsung Medical Centre in South Korea.

Sheikh Mohammed welcomed Rhee in presence of H.H Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and H.H Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai.

The meeting discussed the role Samsung Medical Centre plays in providing health care and therapeutic services for patients with cancer and heart diseases in South Korea, the United Arab Emirates and the region through its new centre, opened yesterday at Dubai Healthcare City.

Prof. Jong Chul Rhee briefed Sheikh Mohammed on Samsung Medical Centre, and the network of hospitals, clinics and centres, which cover most parts of South Korea, with about seventy hospitals and more than 700 clinics and medical centres.

The Korean Professor pointed out that Samsung Medical Centre opened a branch in Dubai Healthcare City for its facilities provided for medical institutions and their cadres and for the UAE's strategic location in the Gulf area and the heart of the Middle East, which makes it an investment and trade hub.

He cited the support provided by Dubai Health Authority (DHA) to establish Samsung Medical Centre.

The meeting was attended by H.E Qahdi Saeed Al Murooshid, General Director, Dubai Health Authority and a number of officials. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
