Mohammed bin Rashid tours Western Region

H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai yesterday made an inspection visit to the Western Region of Abu Dhabi during which he toured a number of schools in Liwa, the Higher Colleges of Technology and the one-stop-shop for government services in Medinat Zayed.

Sheikh Mohammed was accompanied by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Miner of Presidential Affairs, Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and Dr Hanif Hassan Ali, Minister of Education.

The first stop in Sheikh Mohammed's tour was Fatima Bint Asad Girls School. Sheikh Mohammed attended part of the classes and discussed with the students the benefits of education. He also visited Al Siddique Primary and Secondary School where he was briefed on the curricula and the system of the school that has 170 students.

In Medinat Zayed, Sheikh Mohammed and his accompanying delegation visited HCT's Women Colleges where he was warmly welcomed by the students and the teaching staff. He also inspected paper and electronic contents of the college's library.

Sheikh Mohammed directed the Education minister to coordinate with concerned authorities to make available all amounts required to develop and drive education process in all public schools.

He also visited the customer focused centre for government services in Madinat Zayed. The Centre, dubbed 'Tamm', Arabic for done, provides a convenient single point delivery for a range of government services, including health service registration and certificates, the notarisation of legal documents, traffic police services such as driving licenses and tests, Etisalat telecommunication services and welfare and labour services.

Sheikh Mohammed stressed the importance of speeding up processes by adopting electronic services.

Sheikh Mohammed then moved to Sifran Airbase and was received there by Major General Mohammed bin Suweidan Al Qamzi, Commander of the Air Force and Air Defence and the officers stationed there. (Emirates News Agency, WAM)
