Mohammed bin Zayed chairs Executive Council meeting

General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces chaired in Abu Dhabi last night the regular meeting of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council.



During the meeting, the council approved a number of memoranda submitted by various departments. The council approved a memo on personal loans for UAE nationals serving in the Abu Dhabi Police , who have spent more than ten years in service. The approval is restricted to non-commissioned officers provided that the amount of the loan should not exceed end of service gratuity.



The loans will be reimbursed from the monthly salary and without interest. The council also approved a memo submitted by the Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority (ADWEA), tendering import and installation of electricity distribution equipment for 120 sub- stations in Al Ain. Another memo by ADWEA on import and installation of electricity transformers was approved. The council further approved an ADWEA memo on the establishment of an additional 51 new electricity distribution stations in Abu Dhabi.



A memo by the Civil Aviation Department was also reviewed by the council. The memo dealt with the implementation of a security barrier between arriving and departing passengers in Abu Dhabi International airport.



The new system will modernise the security system, expedite passenger services and ensure smooth delivery of services. Another memo by the Civil Aviation on the establishment of a hotel in the airport area to meet the ever growing needs of international passengers was also endorsed by the council.



The council approved a memo by the Abu Dhabi Environmental Authority on the proposed budget to improve emergency and environmental accidents management system in Abu Dhabi emirate. The council also intimated to the Environmental Agency to take necessary precautionary measures to prevent the entry of avian flu disease to the country and further monitor the development of the disease in affected countries.
