Mohammed bin Zayed chairs Executive Council meeting

General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, presided over the council's ordinary meeting, held in Abu Dhabi yesterday. The council reviewed a number of memoranda, dealing with ongoing efforts to streamline government performance, as well as topics on the meeting's agenda.



On reviewing a memorandum submitted by the Finance Department, the council approved the financial regulations for tendering loans to the personnel of the General Headquarter of Armed Forces and of the General directorate of Abu Dhabi Police.



The council also endorsed a memo by the finance department on transferring subsidies to livestock breeders from the budget of the Ruler's Representative in the Western Region to the budget of Department of Municipalities and Agriculture.



It has also approved a memo by the finance department on the proposed housing policy and mandating the department to take any action in the future towards such policy and to make any amendments it may deem necessary.



A memo by the Abu Dhabi Environment Authority on establishing a higher committee to study viability of a uniform mechanism for integrated management for coastal areas, was also endorsed.



The council gave consent to moving financial allocations for upgrading Al Ain Zoo from Al Ain Municipality to the General Corporation for Zoo and Aquarium. Also approved was a memo on allocating stocks in support of the Fund for Abu Dhabi Farms Owners.



The council also endorsed awarding of a contract to use recycled wastewater for irrigation. A recommendation by the Civil Service Council to approve the proposed pay scale for Zayed Supreme Establishment for Humanitarian Welfare and its associated facilities was also endorsed. The meeting also agreed to allocate funds for the supply and installation of caravan houses in the ranches of Dhaharat Al Taeb and Wafia.



It has also approved implementation of the new procurement system at the Departments of Municipalities and Agriculture and Finance. The council endorsed a draft budget on the recurring expenditure of Abu Dhabi Government for 2006. (The Emirates News Agency, WAM)
