Mohammed bin Zayed chairs Executive Council's meeting

General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council yesterday presided over the Council's ordinary weekly meeting. The Council reviewed a number of topics and memoranda on improving government services in the emirate. The Council approved a memorandum submitted by Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority on construction of a modern market for vegetable, meat and fish.



It has also sanctioned a memorandum by the Abu Dhabi Educational Council about its organisation structure and executive system. Also approved was a request by the Finance Department to assign to the Department of Municipalities and Agriculture the tasks of compiling, documenting and registering assets and buildings owned by the emirate. A memorandum by the Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi (EAD) on the implementation of sustainable construction was also endorsed.



The concept aims at improving standards of all elements of construction including quality of building materials, designs, site selection, use of renewable energy sources, air quality, recycling of wastewater and heritage preservation.



A memorandum by the Department of Municipalities and Agriculture on carrying out of road and infrastructure works at the Abu Dhabi International Shooting Club was okayed. The Council approved a memorandum by the Department of Civil Aviation on awarding a five-year contract for operational maintenance of both Abu Dhabi and Al Ain international airports. A memorandum by Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority (ADEWA) on a project to transfer 11 KB loads to Abu Dhabi 47 central substation was also approved. (Emirates News Agency, WAM)
