Mohammed bin Zayed receives Turkish Interior Minister

General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces received in Abu Dhabi yesterday Turkish Minister of the Interior Abdulkadir Aksu and his accompanying delegation, currently on a visit to the country.



The meeting was attended by Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Interior and Selim Karaosmanoglu, Turkish Ambassador. Aksu conveyed greetings of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Sheikh Mohammed and his wishes of further prosperity and progress to the people of UAE.



During the meeting, Sheikh Mohammed explored with the Turkish guest avenues of cooperation in matters related to security and counter-terrorism, in the light of security cooperation agreement, signed yesterday between the two countries.



Sheikh Mohammed was also apprised on the outcome of talks held between the UAE and Turkish Interior Ministers which covered means to intensify coordination in combating terrorism and organised crime and cooperation in the fields of information exchange and anti-money laundering efforts.



He expressed satisfaction over the level of ties between UAE and Turkey. Sheikh Mohammed also stressed the need to establish coordination between security organs in the two countries and welcomed signing of the agreement. He sent his greetings to the Turkish Prime Minister and his wishes to the people of Turkey.



Aksu expressed his country's keenness to strengthen relations with the UAE and to maintain highest levels of cooperation to actively contribute in protecting the two countries from the evils of crimes in all their forms. (Emirates News Agency, WAM)
