Mohammed bin Zayed visits fishermen in Ras al-Khaimah

His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces has stressed the importance of fisheries resource conservation, being one of the main food security sources.

He added that the fishing profession plays an important role in the socio-economic development in the UAE.

Sheikh Mohammed made the remarks here yesterday in Al Muairaidh district, while visiting the fishermen.

He added that the UAE under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan supports the fisheries sector to ensure sustainability of the fisheries reserve and social and material stability of the fishermen.

The Abu Dhabi Crown Prince was briefed by the fishermen about their needs and conditions. They demanded upgrading of the profession so that they play a role in the community.

The fishermen said that the unlimited support from the UAE President and follow up by Sheikh Mohammed, encourage them to sustain the fishing profession, a traditional forefather's profession. They expressed their delight about the visit of Sheikh Mohammed. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
