Top officials and media personnel across the UAE congratulated His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on the fourth anniversary of his accession as Ruler of Dubai and highlighted his efforts to promote the development of the country generally and Dubai specifically.

Saud Al Harithi, Director of Government Communications at the National Media Council, said the fourth accession anniversary of Sheikh Mohammad comes at the height of Sheikh Mohammad's intellectual and humanitarian generosity.

It is not a coincidence that the ‘Financial Times' newspaper included Sheikh Mohammad among the 50 international personalities that played a major role in drawing the features of the last decade.

"The UAE in general and Dubai in particular was transformed during Sheikh Mohammad's rule from the development phase to a bigger development rising. Dubai has become a model followed by many leaders around the world, decision makers, economists and politicians alike. The whole image was completed as Dubai came to be one of the most advanced cities around the world."

Adel Mohammad Al Rashid, Director of the Abu Dhabi Emarat Al Youm, said the accession anniversary of Sheikh Mohammad will live in residents' hearts and souls.

"On this day we will recall Sheikh Mohammad's vision and future outlook and his achievements in all economic, educational, health, social, industrial and agricultural sectors and fields among many others. Sheikh Mohammad started implementing his strategies from the early days of the federation, as he continued striving to make Dubai a unique model in both the region and the world."

The chancellor of Hamdan Bin Mohammad e-university (HBMeU) Dr Mansour Al Awar said the farsighted vision of Sheikh Mohammad has been instrumental in keeping Dubai on the fast track of development to eliminate, in a very short time, the gap between advanced and developing nations.

Al Awar cited the huge achievements which Dubai has made including the world's biggest airport, man-made islands, Dubai Sat-1, Dubai Metro and others which are based on his visionary strategy.

Al Awar said Sheikh Mohammad is a man of experience and innovation, a dynamic and creative man of unwavering determination who is distinguished with his clear vision that is supported with accurate execution of plans which made it possible for Dubai to win the first place leaving other cities content with imitation.

"Sheikh Mohammad is known to the world as the man behind the massive development drive in Dubai, which resulted in the mushrooming of numerous industries and projects of a gargantuan scale, turning the emirate from a dry desert into a global financial and business hub that has become home to a host of global corporations, scientific and cultural events," he said.

Abdul Rahman Al Tunaiji, Spokesman at the UAE Red Crescent Society said in spite of the negative propaganda, Dubai's success story remains steady.

Sheikh Mohammad has led Dubai on par with international cities.

During his rule, Dubai has attracted the attention of the world, and companies from across the world are competing to invest in the promising city, said Al Tunaiji.

"Transparency was the magic key to silence all rumourmongers and Dubai has proved that its strong economy is a part and parcel of the strong UAE economy under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan," he said. — Gulf News with inputs from WAM
