Moroccan Minister of Health lauds Sheikha Fatima's humanitarian role
posted on 30/03/2008

Rabat - Moroccan Minister of Health Yasminah Badu has lauded the humanitarian role of the 'Mother of Emirates' H.H Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak. The minister delivered a letter of gratitude to UAE's renowned cardiac surgeon Dr. Adel Al Shamiri, who heads the 'Zayed Charity Caravan' in Morocco giving free medical help to hundreds of heart patients in the North African country. The letter thanking HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, deputy prime minister and chairman of the UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) for UAE's support to humanitarian and relief works in Morocco was delivered in the presence of the UAE's Charge D' Affairs in Morocco Salem Saeed Al Mansouri.
Yasminah Bado conveyed to Sheikha Fatima the message of love from the mothers working in the health sector and humanitarian fields, mentioning that Sheikha Fatima's benevolence is not confined to Morocco only, but it reaches all countries where there are people who suffer. A team of voluntary medics named 'Zayed Charity Caravan' is currently touring Morocco giving free treatment to heart patients there. The Caravan consists of an elite group of cardiac surgeons from UAE, Morocco, France, Canada and South Africa.
The charity campaign is part of a UAE-Morocco joint outreach programme to take free medical help to those suffering from heart ailments including children, men and women. The campaign is coordinated among UAE embassy in Rabat, the Moroccan Ministry of Health, Read Crescent in UAE and Morocco and the Sheikh Zayed Hospital in Rabat. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
