Casablanca - A Moroccan widely circulated daily yesterday carried a first page report on the official visit of President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to the Moroccan Kingdom tomorrow.

Quoting informed sources, "Al Alam" newspaper said HM King Mohammed VI will discuss with HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed a number of issues of mutual concern, including the situation in the Middle East in the aftermath of Israel's ceaseless atrocities against Lebanon and the occupied Palestinian territories. The two leaders, said the paper, will also discuss means of further bolstering relations between their two countries.

The paper said the UAE-Moroccan relations were based on strong footing of partnership and understanding between the leaders of the two countries. It paid tribute to the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the late King Hassan II for laying a strong foundation for the relations between the two countries.

These relations, the paper notes, are off to a new boost under the leadership of President HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and HM King Mohammed VI. "Since the formation of the Joint Higher Committee, several agreements have been concluded, such as the free exchange agreement which went into operation in July 2003," it said.

The paper cited Abu Dhabi Development Fund's active role in investment in Morocco, in the areas of irrigation, roads, residential and health areas. It said the UAE was taking part in the construction of Tangier port, to be built on the model of Jebel Ali. The Daily also said two UAE business groups had signed in March eight agreements for tourist projects in Rabat, Casablanca, Marrakech, and Tangier. (Emirates News Agency, WAM)
