Musharraf praises UAE aid for quake victims

The President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, received last evening a phone call from Pakistani President, Gen. Pervez Musharraf, during which they discussed matters relating to bilateral ties. They also discussed current developments on the regional and international levels and other matters of mutual interest.



President Musharraf thanked Sheikh Khalifa, the UAE government and people for the noble stance towards Pakistan and its people, particularly during difficult times, the latest being after the devastating earthquake of October 8.He said the UAE assistance for Pakistan would go a long way to alleviate the sufferings of the victims. Sheikh Khalifa told President Musharraf that the UAE government and people were committed to reaching out to Pakistani people in hour of the need. He prayed to God to protect Pakistan and its people against any mishap. He prayed for speedy recovery of the injured. (The Emirates News Agency, WAM)
