The National Consultative Council (NCC) held in Abu Dhabi yesterday the 10th meeting of its second ordinary session of the 16th legislative chapter.

During the meeting, which was presided over by the NCC Chairman, Abdullah Al Masood, the council attested the minutes of the 9th meeting and approved a report from the municipalities and public amenities committee on trade malpractices after deliberating on the report.

The committee recommended the rapid issuance of local laws and legislations to combat trade malpractices and to plug the loopholes in the legal system. It also recommended that imported cars which fail to meet the approved specifications must not be allowed into the country.

It also recommended that the importation and sale of imitated tyres and spare parts must also not be allowed in the country because they pose a security and safety threat. The council decided to hold its next meeting on May 7. (Emirates News Agency, WAM)
