The National and Reserve Service Authority has called on all the high school graduates for the academic year 2013 - 2014 to register at the nearest registration centre to their residences to determine their eligibility to the conscription.

It added that those who have completed the registration procedures for the first batch should report immediately when informed by SMS text messaging to get their military cards.

Staff Major General Pilot Sheikh Ahmed bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Chairman of the National and Reserve Service, urged all eligible candidates to take the enrolment seriously, warning that all those who attended the registration but did not complete the procedures, or those who did not attend at all to determine their eligibility for the recruitment, would be seen as avoiding performance of the national compulsory service, adding that the Article No. 36 of law No. 6 of 2014, would be applied against them.

He congratulated the candidates who had completed the procedures and received their military cards, commending them for quick response without delay. He added that the training camps are ready to receive the first batch at the end of this month.

Meanwhile, the Authority also announced the commencement of registration of the second batch from 10- 20 August. The national service training of the second batch will start by mid-December of this year.

The circular issued in coordination between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the National and Reserve Service Authority, stated that no student would be allowed to enrol in a university or college without specifying his position on conscription. – Emirates News Agency, WAM – Read more:
