National and Reserve Service Authority launches core principles

Major General Sheikh Ahmad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Chairman of the National and Reserve Service Authority has announced the core principles of national service which were based on surveys of different segments of the society, as part of the Authority's preparations for receiving the first batch of recruits at the end of August.

The first of these principles covers matters such as love for the nation, loyalty to the leadership and social cohesion, which all boost the values of selflessness, sacrifice for the nation and its people.

The second principle is aimed at strengthening the development of Emirati youth's personality through the development of personal skills, the sense of responsibility, self-reliance, leadership, endurance.

The third principle covers the unique experience made available by national service for recruits through challenge, adventure and positive competition.

Commenting on the launch of the group of principles, Major General Sheikh Ahmad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan emphasised that "the protection of homeland means the protection of history made by fathers and forefathers, as well as the development of the present of the youth and the bolstering of a promising future for their children and grandchildren." "Answering the call of duty is a moment of pride for every young Emirati. It is also a moment of pride and glory for his family and an honour that will become a legacy to be left behind for his/ her children and grandchildren." Noting that it is important to join forces in order to forge the Emirati society's united vision for national service through the media campaign in which twofour54, a subsidiary of the Media Zone Authority – Abu Dhabi is a strategic partner with the National and Reserve Service Authority.

For her part, Noura Al Kaabi, Chief Executive Officer of Twofour54, focused on the positive outcome of the said campaign on the Emirati society and the contribution to explaining the core principles of national service.

Ms. Al Kaabi also underlined role of national service in building positive personality and leadership traits in the Emirati youth who are aware of modern time issues, can keep up to date with the regional and international changes and are able to overcome challenges facing them while they build the future for themselves and for their nation. – Emirates News Agency, WAM http://www.wam.ae/en/news/general-emirates/1395268514060.html
