Riyadh: Abdul Rahman Bin Hamad Al Attiyah, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, highly praised the statement by President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the occasion of the UAE's 38th National Day.

"Shaikh Khalifa's speech reflects important strategic dimensions in which the domestic development vision in all fields is integrated with a wise and principled policy that supports GCC joint work, Arab solidarity and international issues," Al Attiyah said.

Economic value

He praised Shaikh Khalifa's emphasis on the importance of the GCC and its political, security and economic value, and the UAE's commitment to its role in promoting the march of the GCC and implementing its decision.

Al Attiyah expressed his pride in the GCC joint action march since it took off in 1981, adding that the wisdom of Shaikh Khalifa and GCC rulers contributed to the continuity of the council and its giving. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
