Abu Dhabi Police and Civil Defence put out a fire at the Umm Al Nar Refinery in 45 minutes on Sunday morning. No one was hurt in the fire..

"A fire started in boiler number eight at 10.45am and reached the fuel tanks, which made the situation critical," Lieutenant Colonel Sultan Al Hosani, head of technical rescue and rapid intervention section said.

"The Technical Control and Rapid Intervention Section at the Emergency and Public Safety Department was dispatched to the scene immediately upon receiving a report from the Central Operation Room. This rapid response prevented the fire from spreading to the whole refinery," Lieutenant Colonel Al Hosani added.

"We were able to bring the fire under control in less than 45 minutes, but the cooling process took around an hour extra," he further added.
