A non-stop schedule of interactive discussions, live performances and exciting events is set to enthral visitors over the course of the closing days of this year's edition of the Mother of the Nation Festival.

Organised by Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi) and running until the 4th April, the second edition of the Mother of the Nation Festival extends over more than one kilometre on Abu Dhabi Corniche. In celebration of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak's progressive vision for social empowerment in the UAE, the festival offers visitors a selection of engaging platforms designed to inspire future generations to express themselves creatively and reflect on the challenges facing the community.

At the forefront of upcoming events is the ongoing Majlis: Interactive Conversations programme. Women's empowerment across industries driving the UAE economy will be the subject of multiple talks including a forum on Emirati Women in Sustainability & Renewable Energy on Sunday, 2 April at 7:30pm, and a discussion on Women in Tech by Samantha Rushforth covering the difficulties faced by women in the beauty industry and why businesses resist tech solutions for analogue alternatives on Monday, 3 April at 7:30pm.

Creativity will also take centre stage during an interactive workshop titled Backyard Poetry in which young aspiring poets can showcase their talents at 9pm, Sunday 2 April, while fashion enthusiasts can learn about how to position a sustainable apparel concept in the Middle East retail industry in Back To The Future: Baembu & Sustainability in Middle East Retail at 7:30pm, 4 April.

Leading the excitement on the festival's Main Stage over the next few days is Abu Dhabi Big Band, a group brought together to introduce the Big Band swing, jazz and Latino repertoire to audiences in Abu Dhabi and the UAE playing at 7:20pm and again at 10:20pm on Tuesday, 4 April. Entertaining visitors with a lively performance of original compositions, one of the region's finest Oud musicians Sadiq Jaafar will lead his band as they present their signature blend of Oud with complementary genres such as jazz and flamenco on Monday, 3 April at 7:20pm and again at 10:20pm.

An eclectic performance of fusion between jazz, soul and traditional Emirati music, Lulu Project will then astound festival-goers as Arabic fusion pioneer Kamal Musallam offers up exotic music combinations that have amazed audiences worldwide on Tuesday, 4 April at 5:30pm and once more at 8:50pm.

Visitors still have an exhilarating array of live performances to choose from over the final days of the festival. Lords of Lightning – Frequency Rider will continue to mesmerise audiences with their highly-charged electrical performances utilising animated metal sculptures at the Beach Dining Zone. The New Orleans Jazz Band will guide festival-goers through a vintage-inspired selection of jazz tunes and delightful foot-tapping rhythms in the Happiness Zone throughout the evening on Tuesday, 4 April, while the Souq Zone will host Inaas Percussion, a vibrant show of classic percussion, Arabic drums, timpani, tambourine and more after sunset on Monday, 3 April.
