Over 600 athletes in capital for Asian Jiu-Jitsu Open Cup

Some 657 athletes from 39 countries will gather in the UAE capital for the three-day Jiu-Jitsu Asian Open Cup which will start tomorrow with 402 kids (12 from UAE schools) competing on the first day at the UAE Wrestling, Judo, Jiu-Jitsu '&' Kick-Boxing Federation halls.

Nearly 240 male athletes and 255 men and ladies of different weights and belts will participate in the second and third day respectively of the championship.

Among the top UAE Jiu-Jitsu stars are Zayed Al Ka'abi who will compete in the open +100 kg tournament and the Abdullah Al Tamimi (under 65 kg), winner of three medals in the Arab Open Cup.

The game is expected to welcome new entrants from local clubs including Al Ain, Jazira, Wahda and Bani Yas. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
