Pakistani PM meets UAE FM

Islamabad - Pakistani Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani received Thursday visiting UAE Foreign Minister HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Gilani welcomed Sheikh Abdullah and highlighted the multi-faceted relations between the UAE and Pakistan, which he said were based on mutual bonds of religion, heritage, values and culture.

'The UAE is the largest investor in Pakistan, an indicator of the strong existing bilateral relations,' he said, referring to the far-sighted vision of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, whom he said 'Pakistan has benefited much from his experiences and his wisdom'. Gilani hoped the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the two countries on manpower would be enforced.

For his part, Sheikh Abdullah termed UAE-Pakistan relations as 'historic' The Pakistani premier hosted a dinner in honour of Sheikh Abdullah which was graced by a number of Pakistani ministers and senior officials. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
