A Palestinian top official has expressed gratitude to the UAE Red Crescent Society (RCS) for its support of the Palestinian people. Waleed Abu Mousa, Chief of the Jenin Municipality, made his statement during a visit by a delegation of heads of Palestinian municipalities to the RCS head office in Abu Dhabi yesterday. The delegation consists, in addition to Abu Mousa, of Qasim Alawneh, Chief of Qabatiya Municipality, Anwar Ezzeddine Chief of Araba Municipality and a representative from Palestine Embassy in the UAE.

During a meeting with the RCS officials, the delegation reviewed the tragic situation in all Palestinian cities and camps which are under continuous siege by Israeli troops. The meeting discussed the humanitarian programme the RCS is carrying out in the Palestinian territories. Meanwhile, the RCS viewed with a delegation from UN High Commission of Refugees avenues of cooperation in the field of refugee welfare.

The Commission hailed the role being played by H.H Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Wife of the President, Chairwoman of the UAE General Women's Union and RCS Honorary President, in the support of refugee humanitarian programmes. (The Emirates News Agency, WAM)
