Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Abdul Rahman Al Attiya said yesterday that he briefed President HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the preparations for the tenth consultative summit of the GCC Heads of States due to be held in Damam, KSA on Tuesday.

Attiya said that the summit will follow up the implementation of the decisions made earlier by the Council, mirroring the keenness of the leaders in enhancing the joint march in the best interest of the people.

On another level, Attiya expressed profound pride about the landmark strategic partnership agreement among UAE, Qatar and Oman within the framework of Dolphin Energy project.

He said that the joint launching of the gas processing plant last week in Qatar by HH General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Crown Prince of Qatar enormously strengthen the relations between the member countries of GCC.

This will ultimately contribute towards the economic integration and prosperity of GCC states; Attiya added.

The prudent directives from President HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, HH Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa and HM Sultan Qaboos bin Saeed of Oman paved the way for this valuable partnership, which will substantially contribute to the economic growth of the region, Attiya said. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
