President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan asserted UAE's keenness to support Egypt at this important cross road in the march of its government and the people to safeguard the country's gains and achievements and to protect its aspirations for a better tomorrow.

Receiving Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Essam Sharaf at the Al-Rawda Palace in Al Ain City yesterday, in the presence of Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President said that as the UAE and Egypt constituted a model for the distinguished fraternal relations in various circumstances and in different situations in the regional and international political relations, the future of these relations will be built on the historical bonds of brotherhood between the peoples of the two countries.

He added that the changes taking place in the political arena in Egypt strengthens the confidence and optimism about Egypt's faithful people that they will work to perpetuate its leading and pivotal role both on regional and international levels, and will embody at the same time, the strategic depth between the fraternal countries in the Arab world.

Sheikh Khalifa expressed his wish that Egypt will cross this important stage in its political history with determination and confidence to return to its natural status and position among other countries in the region and the world.

He stressed that the leadership, the government and the people of UAE will follow the same approach and supportive stance towards the Egyptian people and leadership in all the circumstances with the full belief in Egypt's weight and its strategic location, as well as its important role in the creation of a state of balance on the regional and international levels.

The Egyptian Prime Minister expressed his happiness over the opportunity to meet with His Highness the President, and said that his visit to the UAE comes as a confirmation of the noble feelings of fraternity and respect the Egypt's leadership, government and people cherishes for the UAE and as an appreciation of the UAE's supportive stance towards Egypt.

The Premier expressed full confidence that the relations of the two countries will grow in strength and resilience at all levels during the next phase of Egypt's history with unwavering brotherly relations with the UAE.

During the meeting, they held talks on the latest developments in Egypt's political arena and reviewed the bilateral relations between the two countries. They also exchanged views on current regional and international developments and other topics of common concern.

The meeting was attended by HH Sheikh Tahnoon bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Eastern Region, HH Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, HH Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs and a number of other Sheikhs, Ministers and senior state officials. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
